The Jacksonville Jaguars enter December with their first-ever road trip to the Los Angeles Rams since the NFC West team returned to California from St. Louis. The Jaguars, who have lost their last three games, are attempting to banish their streak of futility against NFC opposition, while the Rams are fighting to end a slump of their own and catch up with the Arizona Cardinals in the divisional chase. Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is looking for his third NFL victory. The game marks the first encounter for the Jaguars against Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, traded to Los Angeles amid a string of controversies two years ago.

6:32 p.m. | OBJ time: Beckham scores as Rams pile on

Ouch: The Jaguars are getting squashed in California. After another Roy Robertson-Harris roughing the passer penalty, Matthew Stafford delivers another touchdown pass, 1 yard to a leaping Odell Beckham Jr.

6:23 p.m. | Los Angeles 30, Jacksonville 7

Only 15 minutes of play left in this one.

6:18 p.m. | Carlos Hyde fumble latest Jags turnover

Turnover, again: Carlos Hyde loses the handle on a run to the left, and Taylor Rapp falls on the bouncing ball for Los Angeles.

6:11 p.m. | Rams pile on with another TD

Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp are taking this Jaguars defense apart. Kupp is up to seven catches for 121 yards, advancing the football to the edge of the red zone on that drive.

Stafford missed an open Kupp in the end zone for a sure touchdown, but rebounded two plays later on a 2-yard scoring strike to Van Jefferson.

Rams 30, Jaguars 7, 3:27 3rd.

5:52 p.m. | Touchdown Rams: L.A. pulls away on Cooper Kupp TD

The Rams strike right out of the halftime interval. Los Angeles forced a Jacksonville three-and-out, and Matthew Stafford went to work. One deep pass to Cooper Kupp advanced the ball across midfield, and shortly afterward, Stafford found Kupp over the middle. The receiver raced away from Andrew Wingard's tackle attempt for a 29-yard touchdown.

Rams 23, Jaguars 7, 11:43 3rd.

5:45 p.m. | Third quarter begins

Back to the action at SoFi Stadium. The Jaguars are set to receive the second-half kickoff.

5:32 p.m. | HALFTIME: Los Angeles 16, Jacksonville 7

It's another halftime deficit for the Jags against an NFC opponent.

5:28 p.m. | Matt Gay field goal stretches L.A. lead

The Rams have made it a two-score game. Off-target throws and drops have hampered the L.A. offense, but Matt Gay delivered again with a 37-yard field goal.

A notable footnote on that drive: Former Bishop Kenny High School John Wolford entered for a snap with Matthew Stafford on the sideline after a hard hit from Roy Robertson-Harris. The Jaguars lineman was flagged for roughing the passer.

Rams 16, Jaguars 7, 0:19 2nd.

5:16 p.m. | Jaguars survive a fumble but punt

The Jaguars had a promising drive going, with help from a Rams penalty for fair catch interference and another one for holding, until Trevor Lawrence fumbled on third down. The rookie quarterback fell on the loose ball but the Jaguars punted the ball away shortly before the two-minute warning.

5:00 p.m. | Rams extend edge on field goal

Matt Gay delivers a field goal for the Rams. Matthew Stafford has been less than consistent so far for Los Angeles, although he did convert a fourth down on that drive. But Adam Gotsis blew up a third-down run, leading to the field goal.

Rams 13, Jaguars 7, 7:41 2nd.

4:48 p.m. | Touchdown Jaguars: Carlos Hyde finds end zone

It's a ballgame again. The Jaguars got an unintentional assist from Jalen Ramsey, who got a 15-yard penalty for taunting after a short Carlos Hyde run.

Then, after another defensive penalty on the Rams for holding, Hyde plunged into the end zone from 2 yards out.

Rams 10, Jaguars 7, 13:23 2nd.

4:42 p.m. | End of 1st quarter: Los Angeles 10, Jacksonville 0

That's the end of a rough first quarter for the Jaguars. Trevor Lawrence ended the period on a positive note, though, zipping a strike to Marvin Jones and advancing the Jaguars across midfield on this drive.

4:20 p.m. | Touchdown Rams: Sony Michel finds end zone

Another miserable start for the Jaguars. After that turnover, Matthew Stafford fired a strike to Odell Beckham Jr. to advance to the 5. From there, Sony Michel powered directly into the end zone up the middle.

Rams 10, Jaguars 0, 10:25 1st.

4:17 p.m. | Turnover: Jaguars lose the ball

It's getting worse for the Jaguars. All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald flat-out throws James Robinson and strips the ball away, and a familiar face — Jalen Ramsey — grabs the loose football. Los Angeles takes over inside the Jacksonville 30.

4:12 p.m. | Field goal Rams: Jaguars already behind in California

That didn't take very long. The Rams quickly got on the board, starting in prime field position after Brandon Powell returned the opening kickoff 65 yards. The Jaguars' defense held firm after that, but Matt Gay still converted a 40-yard field goal. Jacksonville is already behind, once again, on the West Coast.

Rams 3, Jaguars 0, 12:20 1st.

4:05 p.m. | Kickoff time in L.A.

3:15 p.m. | Gene Frenette: Along with Jaguars losing, Urban Meyer may be losing benefit of doubt

Nearly 11 months ago, it seemed like an ideal match, from both a marketing and football standpoint. Urban Meyer, taking the NFL plunge with a franchise in close proximity to where he became a legendary coach just 75 miles away at the University of Florida, was viewed by many as a home run hire. If nothing else, he was most certainly a polarizing one. | Read more --Gene Frenette

It’s time for the Jaguars to start putting the clamps on an opponent’s running game again.
