In a statement made on the mayor's official twitter account, Jackson City Mayor Scott Conger announced that he tested positive for COVID-19 Sunday morning, along with his wife Nikki and son Charlie.

"Friday morning Nikki and Charlie weren't feeling well, and tested positive (for) COVID-19," Conger said. "I stayed home to quarantine and take care of everyone. Because you know when momma goes down, it gets crazy!"

Conger added that symptoms have been "relatively mild for both (Nikki and Charlie)," and that he is currently only experiencing symptoms of a "slight head cold."

The couple's daughter, Madelyn, has not tested positive for COVID-19, according to the statement.

Both Conger and his wife are vaccinated.

Conger stated that he will continue to remain quarantined for the week.

"Be safe and be cautious," he said.

The City of Jackson has conducted meetings virtually in the past, particularly at the onslaught of the pandemic--an option that may be resurrected this upcoming week to allow Thursday's agenda review meeting to occur regardless of quarantines.
