Another of the Whitehalls' recent collaborations didn't have quite such a happy ending after the father and son appeared on Who Do You Think You Are?.

The episode aired on the BBC over the summer and viewers saw the Whitehalls discover some of their ancestors weren't the most upstanding members of society at the time.

The younger Whitehall made an appearance on The Graham Norton Show on Friday where he branded his family "scumbags" after uncovering the startling revelations about the relatives on the genealogy show.

“My whole family was just a long line of scumbags as far as the eye can stretch,” Whitehall told Norton.
