Iowa State, Northern Iowa volleyball teams fall in NCAA Tournament second round

The Iowa State and Northern Iowa volleyball teams saw their seasons end Saturday night with losses in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Cyclones lost to Florida 3-0 in Gainesville, Fla. Set scores were 25-19, 25-23 and 25-14. Eleanor Holthaus had 13 kills and 10 digs. Alexis Engelbrecht had four kills and three blocks. The Cyclones (20-12) were held to .110 hitting percentage while the Gators hit .279.

The Panthers (27-8) lost 3-0 against Minnesota in Minneapolis. Set scores were 25-18, 25-16 and 25-15. Sydney Petersen led Northern Iowa with 16 digs. Tayler Alden had 26 assists, and Emily Holterhaus registered 11 kills.
