Iowa Community Recruits Herd of Goats to Clean Up Waterfront

The Iowa city of Council Bluffs recruited a herd of goats to graze on weeds and brush along the city’s riverfront, in a “cost-effective and eco-friendly way” to remove unwanted vegetation, according to officials.

The herd of 55 goats began work at Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park on May 16, officials said, and would take 15 to 20 days to finish landscaping the area.
