Indigo Girls and Disney's 'Fantasia' among additions to Minnesota Orchestra's current season

Jan. 26—The Minnesota Orchestra has added four new programs to its current season, including an Indigo Girls concert and an evening of musical selections from Disney's "Fantasia."

Tickets are available online at minnesotaorchestra.org or by calling 612-371-5656.

The orchestra will present a pair of "Symphony in 60" programs, on March 29 and April 13. The concerts are about an hour in length, with an earlier start time of 7 p.m., pre-concert activities and a $5 happy hour.

Folk duo the Indigo Girls, who sold out Orchestra Hall in February 2019, return for two nights backed by the Minnesota Orchestra on June 24 and 25. Michelle Merrill will conduct.

"Disney — Fantasia Live in Concert," which was originally scheduled for the summer of 2020, will be performed on Aug. 6 and 7. Sarah Hicks will lead the orchestra in a performance of musical selections as the film is shown on a large screen above the stage.

Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within the 72 hours prior to showtime is required for all concertgoers, including children of all ages. Masks are required throughout Orchestra Hall except by those drinking a beverage on the venue's patio spaces.
