Indiana men's basketball has great expectations as it opens the 2022-23 season against Morehead State.

The Hoosiers, who are coming off their first NCAA Tournament berth in six years, are considered a Big Ten favorite behind preseason All-American Trayce Jackson-Davis, Race Thompson and heralded newcomers Jalen Hood-Schifino and Malik Reneau.

The Racers finished 23-11 last season, losing to Murray State in the Ohio Valley Conference championship game. Their roster includes Julian Norris, who attended Evansville Bosse High School, and Alex Gross, who went to Hauser High School.

Mike Woodson enters his second season as IU's coach, and Preston Spradlin enters his sixth full season as MSU's coach.
