Identity of teenager who raped and murdered schoolgirl, 14, can finally be revealed
A teenager found guilty of raping and murdering a 14-year-old schoolgirl in Wolverhampton can now be named.
Ayman Aziz, now 17, contacted Viktorija Sokolova online and lured her to West Park on April 11, 2018.
Aziz, who is being named for the first time after reporting restrictions were lifted, subjected Ms Sokolova to a two-hour attack before dumping her body on a bench.
Aziz was found guilty at Wolverhampton Crown Court in February and received a life sentence with a minimum term of 19 years.
The teenager’s lawyers challenged the judge’s order to lift restrictions after his trial.
Adam Kane QC argued that reporting restrictions should not be lifted because they would have an adverse effect on Aziz's rehabilitation and they remained in place.

Mr Kane said Aziz, who is diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, was "bullied and threatened" during his detention.
But on Thursday, Lord Chief Justice Lord Burnett and other senior judges rejected Aziz's challenge at the Court of Appeal.
Lithuanian-born Viktorija was contacted by Aziz on Facebook Messenger.
Detectives for West Midlands Police believe Aziz used a hammer to assault her.
The schoolgirl suffered a fractured skull, brain injuries and shattered vertebrae during the attack.
But Aziz was caught on CCTV as he attempted to cover up the offence by hiding bloodied clothing.
The teenage killer also deleted Facebook messages and threw Viktorija’s phone into a lake.
