Ice Crystals Form on Bubble as Sun Rises in Minnesota

Amid bitterly cold temperature in Minnesota on January 24, Mike Shaw in Saint Paul had some fun, creating bubbles with a cookie cutter and watching as stunning ice crystals formed.

“Neighbors think I’m obsessed with ice crystals – they’re not wrong!” Shaw told Storyful, “I have no words for the beauty of nature. Sometimes it takes subzero temperatures to slow down, take a look and appreciate it!” he said.

According to the National Weather Service, Saint Pau received 1.6 inches of snow as of Monday morning, with warnings of more chilly air and freezing temperatures. Credit: Mike Shaw via Storyful
