Yowza. Carolina Hurricanes rookie Martin Necas was simply trying to get a little net-front presence in front of Montreal’s Charlie Lindgren but instead might be ending 2019 with a lot less teeth.

The puck comes from a point shot and seems to hit him directly in the jaw. Necas immediately throws his gloves and reaches for his face in pain — the refs blew the play down immediately.

Necas skated off the ice for repairs in a hurry, and returned at the start of the third period.

The 20-year-old has 9 goals and 22 points through 35 games this season.
