Hurricane Ian: What the Treasure Coast needs to know Monday as storm approaches SW Florida

As Hurricane Ian is expected to make landfall on Florida's west or north coast later this week, the Treasure Coast on Monday was forecasted to be spared much of the storm's wrath.

However, there may be some impact across Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin counties because of Ian's outer bands, which could include isolated heavy rainfall, localized flooding, strong wind gusts and beach erosion.

Here's what Treasure Coast residents need to know Monday.

How much wind can we expect?

The Treasure Coast likely will experience tropical storm force winds, which are 39 mph up to 73 mph. Forecasts were for up to 60 mph.

Ian is expected to bring a moderate risk of flooding with anywhere from 4 to 6 inches of rain.
