Four-star rated linebacker Grayson Howard announced his commitment to South Carolina via a video on social media on Monday.

Howard chose the Gamecocks over Florida, UGA, Clemson, Texas A&M and more than 20 other schools that have sent offers to the linebacker.

Howard finished with 157 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 2 picks, 6 pass deflections during his junior season and was rated as No. 51 in the state in the USA Today Florida Network's Pre-Spring Top 100.

He's valued as a top-20 linebacker in the nation and top-10 in the state. Howard has been a big part of the Jackson Tiger's resurgence to prominence.

"I got my first offer a little over a year ago and it's been a blessing ever since," he said during spring practice in May. "Hard work definitely pays off. I couldn't thank Coach [Christopher] Foy and his staff enough for doing everything they could for me.

"I've handled it well. I thank God everyday for putting me in this opportunity because not a lot of kids get to see this. But me, my team, they get to see it first hand."
