Hop aboard trolley in Aiken for free History Hop tours this Saturday

Oct. 18—Local residents can celebrate Aiken County's 150th anniversary by participating in the History Hop tour in Aiken this Saturday.

A History Hop tour to explore historic sites throughout the downtown area will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, in Aiken.

Two of the City of Aiken's vehicles will shuttle guests between five museums, and guests can hop off and on to visit the sites for free.

There will be tour guides aboard the shuttles to give tidbits of history between the stops.

The route for the shuttles will be: Aiken County Historical Museum; Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame and Museum; Aiken Visitors Center and Train Museum; Center for African American History, Art and Culture; and Savannah River Site Museum.

Residents can park at any of these five museums to hop on the trolley and start their adventure.

Masks are strongly encouraged while riding in the trolleys.

The History Hop tour is free and open to the public.
