Holiday streaming guide: What’s new on Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ and more
The holiday season is officially here, and if you’re looking for something new to stream, there are plenty of new options for 2021. Netflix leads the pack with nearly a dozen new holiday titles with Hulu, Disney+, HBO Max and Peacock all offering up their own warm and cozy original streaming titles this December.

“The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star:” “The Princess Switch” is back for its third installment of holiday fun this year, which finds royal look-alikes Margaret and Stacy reaching out to Fiona, a third doppelganger, for help recovering a priceless relic that was stolen. Starring Vanessa Hudgens, Sam Palladio and Remi Hii. Streaming now.
“Love Hard:” Unlucky-in-love writer Natalie travels across the country to meet up with a dating app match for Christmas, only to find out that she has been catfished. Starring Nina Dobrev, Jimmy O. Yang and Darren Barnet. Streaming now.
“A Boy Called Christmas:” This fantasy story follows a young boy in search of his father who disappeared while looking for a village of elves. Starring Maggie Smith, Kristen Wiig, Toby Jones, Jim Broadbent and Sally Hawkins. Streaming now.
“A Castle for Christmas:” A bestselling romance author goes to Scotland to purchase a castle with family significance, but her plans are upended thanks to the castle’s ornery owner. Starring Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes. Streaming now.
“Single All the Way:” Perpetually single Peter persuades best friend Nick to pose as his boyfriend on a trip home for the holidays. Things get even more complicated when his mother sets him up on a blind date with her handsome trainer, James. Starring Michael Urie, Philemon Chambers and Kathy Najimy. Streaming now.
“Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas:” Family favorite “Shaun the Sheep” returns in this new holiday special full of fun hijinks and familiar characters. Streaming Dec. 3.
“The Great British Baking Show: Holidays:” This special series will see favorite contestants from seasons past returning to wow the judges with extravagant holiday-themed treats. Streaming Dec. 3.
“David and the Elves:” This Polish fantasy series follows young boy David and disgruntled elf Albert on a journey into the mountains to search for David’s grandparents and find the true meaning of Christmas. Streaming Dec. 6.
“A California Christmas: City Lights:” A follow up to last year’s “A California Christmas,” it has been one year since Callie and Joseph fell in love, and the couple faces a new challenge as their dreams of running a dairy farm and winery in California are threatened when Joseph is called back to the city. Starring real-life couple Lauren and Josh Swickard. Streaming Dec. 16.

“Candified: Home for the Holidays:” In a new reality series, Candy Queen Jackie Sorkin joins a team of candy artists to build a life-sized, fully functional candy house just in time for the holidays. Streaming now.
“Madagascar: A Little Wild Holiday Goose Chase:” “Madagascar” pals return to reunite a wayward goose with his family in New York just in time for the holidays. Starring Tucker Chandler, Shaylin Becton and Jasmine Gatewood. Streaming now.
Peacock
“The Housewives of the North Pole:” A holiday-house-decorating competition heats up in North Pole, Vermont when former best friends Trish and Diana make national headlines with a scorching holiday feud. Starring Kyle Richards and Betsy Brandt. Streaming Dec. 9.
“Days of our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas:” Will Horton pens a festive story based on his family and friends in Salem featuring much-loved characters from the long-running series. Starring Deidre Hall, Eileen Davidson and Alison Sweeney. Streaming Dec. 16.
Disney+
“Home Sweet Home Alone:” A reboot of the holiday classic, this updated movie follows Max Mercer who has been left behind while his family is in Japan for the holidays and must fend off nefarious burglars in their absence. Starring Ellie Kemper, Devin Ratray and Archie Yates. Streaming now.
HBO Max
“8-Bit Christmas:” This nostalgic film takes viewers back in time to 1980s Chicago where a 10-year-old embarks on a seemingly impossible quest to get a Nintendo Entertainment System in time for the holidays. Starring Neil Patrick Harris and Winslow Fegley. Streaming now.
“12 Dates of Christmas:” HBO Max’s holiday dating series returns for a second season of drama, romance and festive surprises. Streaming now.
