Where you can go ice skating in Oklahoma
For Oklahomans eager to get outside and take to the ice, the holidays are a special time of year.
A rarity in the Sooner State with its relatively mild winters, outdoor ice rinks pop up in some of Oklahoma's larger communities around Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's.
Here are some of the spots where folks can take part in seasonal skating:
Devon Ice Rink
When: Through Jan. 30.
Where: Myriad Botanical Gardens, 301 W Reno.

After missing 2020, the Devon Ice Rink returns for its 10th season in the Myriad Gardens, offering 5,500 square feet of real ice, glittering lights and seasonal food and beverage offerings.
Edmond Ice Rink
When: Through Jan. 3.
Where: Mitch Park, 1501 W Covell Rd., Edmond.

Zip and glide across the real ice at the rink next to the silo in Mitch Park. The rink also is adjacent to Edmond Electric's fourth annual Luminance holiday lights display.
14th annual Arvest Winterfest
When: Through Jan. 3.
Where: Outside BOK Center, 200 S Denver in Tulsa.

The downtown Tulsa holiday festival will include a skating rink, 44-foot holiday tree and weekend festivities ranging from horse-drawn carriage rides and free live entertainment to the Winterfest Express Train and Sundays with Santa.
Holiday on Ice in Downtown Enid
When: Through Jan. 2.
Where: 400 S Independence.

For the second year, Garfield County seat is hosting an outdoor ice rink between the Stride Bank Center and the art installation Under Her Wing was the Universe.
Bartlesville's Christmas in the Ville
When: Dec. 3-Jan. 2.
Where: 201 S Keeler Ave., downtown Bartlesville.

Opening night for the outdoor skating rink is set for 5:30 to 9 p.m. Dec. 3, with festivities including the holiday tree and park lighting, appearances by the "Frozen" princesses, food trucks, movies in the park, carriage rides, Santa sightings and more.
Broken Arrow's BA Ice Rink
When: Through Jan. 3.
Where: 418 S Main Street.

It's the sixth season for the ice rink in Broken Arrow's Rose District.
Tahlequah's Snowflake Winter Festival Ice Rink
When: Through Jan. 2.
Where: Downtown Tahlequah, across from Norris Park, 400 N Muskogee Ave.
