HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Weymouth girls lacrosse sets program record

The Weymouth High girls lacrosse team is having a great season.

In fact, it's the most successful in program history.

With a 15-10 win over Natick on Thursday, the Wildcats improved to 11-5, which set a program record for wins in a single season.

In the win, Megan Doyle (6 goals, assist) and Cam Flaherty (5 goals, 2 assists) each had 7-point days for the Wildcats. Molly Higgins and Mira Flaherty each tacked on a pair of goals.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Plymouth North 11, Hanover 5: Annika Pyy led the way for the Blue Eagles with 4 goals and 2 assists. Addie Pyy and Maddy Fratus each scored one goal apiece.

Whitman-Hanson 10, North Quincy 9: Julia Majenski scored the winning goal with 3:47 remaining. Ella Nagle (2 assists), Joli Flamos (assist) and Jenna Linstrom each tallied 2 goals apiece.

Canton 11, North Attleboro 10: Fay Gallery scored 4 goals and added an assist to lead the Bulldogs. Sisters Allie and Emily McCabe each had 2 goals.

Duxbury 17, Quincy 2: Bella Fisher scored her 100th career goal in the win.

BOYS LACROSSE

Whitman-Hanson 14, Quincy/North Quincy 6: Chris Ross (4 goals) and Connor McCarthy (2 goals, 2 assists) had 4-point days for the Panthers (5-11) in the win. Bobby Hunter had 12 ground balls to go with a goal and an assist. Gavin McCarthy added a pair of goals and an assist. Joe Manton (4 goals, 2 assists), Teddy Lynch (goal, 3 assists) and Riley O'Connell (17 saves) played well in the loss.

Needham 20, Braintree 4: The Wamps dropped the Bay State Conference game.

Marshfield 12, Pembroke 4: The Rams won on Senior Day.

Hanover 11, Plymouth North 0: Derek Tokarz and Ryan Jones each had hat tricks for the Hawks. Plymouth North goaltender Teddy Golden played well in defeat.

Hingham 15, Silver Lake 5: The Harbormen won the Patriot League game behind hat tricks from Henry Crean and Henry Woodyatt. Charlie Packard and Cian Nicholas each scored twice.

Scituate 17, Plymouth South 4: The Sailors (13-3) locked up the Patriot League Fisher Division title behind a big game from Will Robinson (6 goals, 2 assists). Charlie Hartwell (4 goals, 2 assists) and James Sullivan (2 goals, 2 assists) also played well.

BC High 17, Central Catholic 5: Pat Maroney (4 goals) and Tim Rogers (3 goals) led the offense for the Eagles (12-5) while Andrew Toland and Charlie McCullough played well in net.

SOFTBALL

Plymouth South 9, North Quincy 0: The Panthers won the Patriot League game.

Abington 9, Franklin 3: Calli Pineau had a 3-hit day (2 RBI, 2 runs) and Ava DiPietro drove in 3 runs in a road win for the Green Wave (13-3). Kayden Lynch had 2 hits and a run scored while Brenna Howley tripled and scored once. Shannon Varvitsiotis had 2 hits and 2 RBI and earned the win in the circle.

East Bridgewater 5, Whitman-Hanson 1: Maggie Schlossberg doubled, scored and drove in a run at the plate and picked up the win in the circle with 11 strikeouts. Hannah Burton and Amanda Murphy (RBI) each had 2 hits, including a double.

BASEBALL

Quincy 10, Scituate 8: The Presidents (11-8) won their sixth consecutive game and have qualified for the tournament for the first time since 2014. Neil Sullivan scored 3 runs and had 2 hits for the Sailors (11-6, 10-4) in the loss. Jordan Barthel had 3 RBI while Courtland Hare had 2.

Middleboro 13, Norwell 0: Nate Tullish threw a complete game for the Sachems (10-7) with 10 strikeouts.

Whitman-Hanson 1, Marshfield 0 (12 inn.): Aidan Barry and Jackson House each pitched 6 innings of shutout ball as the Panthers (8-7) won a marathon game. In the 12th inning, Trevor Googins reached base when he was hit by a pitch and scored on House's walk-off single. Jaden Booker made a game-saving throw to get a runner out at the plate in the sixth inning.

Rockland 5, Hull 2: Rockland starting pitcher Mike Ayer allowed just 2 hits over 5 2/3 innings to earn the win. Logan Murphy earned the win by getting the last four outs. Ayer also tripled, scored and drove in a run. For Hull, Owen Fleck had a 2-run single.

Plymouth South 10, North Quincy 4: Naythan Ruehs starred in the win for the Panthers (13-3). He pitched 6 innings and struck out 9 while going 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI. Jack Obert added 3 hits.

Pembroke 7, Hanover 6: The Titans won the Patriot League game.

Bridgewater-Raynham 9, Brockton 0: James Nichols earned the win for the Trojans as he tossed 3 1/3 innings of 1-hit ball. Nolan DeAndrade (triple, RBI), Mike Logiudice (triple) and Tyler Cattoggio (2 for 4, double) also starred.

GIRLS TENNIS

Marshfield 5, Whitman-Hanson 0: The Rams defeated the Panthers in the Patriot League match.

GIRLS GOLF

Walpole 4, Braintree 3: The Wamps dropped the Bay State Conference ma.
