The Oklahoma City Spark is preparing for its inaugural season.

The professional softball team is the first of its kind in Oklahoma, and as a member of Women’s Professional Fastpitch (WPF), the Spark will begin to play later this year.

Here’s what we know now about the Spark.

When does the Oklahoma City Spark season start?

The WPF season will have opening day on June 15.

When will the Oklahoma City Spark announce its schedule?

Where will the OKC Spark play home games?

Most will be at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium, but the first six games of the season will be played at the University of Central Oklahoma.

How can I watch OKC Spark games on TV?

All games will be streamed, but the WPF is also in discussion with broadcast partners to potentially televise games on TV.

How long will the Oklahoma City Spark season be?

36 regular-season WPF games.

How many WPF teams are there?

Right now, there are three other WPF teams: USSSA Pride, Smash It Sports Vipers and Texas WPF. The Spark may also add games against non-WPF opponents such as national teams and independent pro teams.

Who is playing for the Oklahoma City Spark?

As of Feb. 14, the Spark has nine players: Jocelyn Alo, Chelsea Alexander, Lynnsie Elam, Fa Leilua, Michelle Moultrie, Keilani Ricketts, Keely Rochard, Sydney Sherrill and Sami Williams. Spark owner Tina Floyd said the team will have four picks in the April draft.
