Heinz now selling portable contraption to squeeze ketchup out of packets

Not sure what took them so long but for folks who want to squeeze the very last drop of ketchup from those pocket-sized packets, your prayers have finally been answered.

This week, Heinz rolled out The Heinz Packet Roller, a contraption specifically designed to extract all of the tomato-based condiment (and others) out of the plastic packets.

To use the device —shaped like a tiny Heinz ketchup bottle attached with a metal loop for fitting on a keychain — simply insert the closed end of your ketchup packet into the slot on one side of the Packet Roller and then pull it out the other side.

As the packet slides through, the condiment will be conveniently forced out the open end.

“Our packets bring the magic to mealtime no matter where people are having their burger and fries but squeezing out every drop is no easy feat,” Heinz’s brand director Ashleigh Gibson said with the announcement of the nifty contraption, designed to give drive-thru, delivery and takeout fans ease of use. “We engineered the Heinz Packet Roller to give fans a whole new way to savor their favorite condiment and ensure the last drop never goes to waste again.”

The Pittsburgh-headquartered company is selling what it call its “biggest thing in sauce since the packet itself” for $5.70 each through the website HeinzPacketRoller.com.

Heinz‘s fellow Steel City institution, the popular Primanti’s sandwich chain, will be selling them at their Market Square location while supplies last.
