Mike Norvell

On winning a rivalry game against Florida

"Our depth got tested. Guys that were very limited even throughout the course of this week in practice, crucial moments were out there because they were what we had.

"Games like that, that's where your heart, your character, your identity has to show up. Our guys battled. That's who they are, though. This is not an easy place to come play college football because of the standard that we have. We push. We challenge. We want our guys to go above and beyond in all things so that when those moments show up, you can go out there and execute and get the job done.

"That's where these guys, they've embraced that. They've embraced it throughout the course of the season, throughout the last few years. It was really special.

"That game needs to have those types of swings. It's what makes this rivalry a special one. Definitely feels good coming out that one score ahead."

On fans rushing the field

"I didn't actually see them coming down, I just felt them all there (smiling). It was pretty wild.

"No, we got an incredible fan base. I love it. It's such a special place to play college football, to coach college football. It's about the people. It truly is. Who we represent, what we stand for, that's what makes Florida State special.

"People can say that wherever, but until you're here until you get to live in it, be around it, man, it's remarkable. When you feel that energy...

"Yes, today the atmosphere was unreal. You feel the energy every single day when you're in town just around this place. Grateful for the opportunity. It was definitely a celebration that was well-deserved celebration that was needed.

I'm happy for our fan base that they got a chance to experience that, just some of the steps we've taken this year."

On Jordan Travis' performance

"He battled. It was everything. There were times that he had to extend plays. Some of the things that he did out there on that football field were just truly special. To be able to take a negative and make it into a positive, I mean, I thought he located the ball really well throughout the course of the night.

"You just see his leadership, you see his confidence. There's nothing that's moving too fast for him. He's able to control himself and go out there and play at an elite level.

"He broke the rock tonight. A lot of guys did some great things, but he was special.

Jarrian Jones

On Mike Norvell

“When I first got here, I felt like he was crazy. Like something was wrong with him. But that is him every day. He is going to give you his best every day. He is a person who is all about the work. He knows his players. He knows how his players are and how to talk to his players.

“I don’t have nothing but love for coach. I would run through a wall for coach.”

On beating UF and sweeping state

“To tell you the truth, we’re supposed to do that. We’re supposed to beat all these teams. This is Florida State, this isn’t some regular roody-poo school, this is Florida State. So, you go into every game saying ‘this is a win.’ We are dominating the other team.”

Jammie Robinson

On transferring to FSU

“When I first came here, it was a big transition for me and my family. When I first got here, my mom’s house caught on fire. So the whole four-five months, I was going back and forth from practice to home. It started off rough and just seeing how the coaches helped me out, they reached out and try to help my family. That took me to the next level. I love it here just because of the love the fans have and they brought me and my family in. I appreciate that.”

On the fans storming the field

“I had never been a part of something like that. I was actually just sitting outside for a good little minute before we had to go back into the locker room and just take it all in. It was the last game at Doak, so it was big for the fans to pull up and storm. It just shows how much support and love we have from them.”

Shyheim Brown

On the fan's field storming

“I feel they were happy we did what we were supposed to do, come out and dominate. It felt pretty good with all the pictures and the fans showing us love. As athletes you want fans to be supportive to you like that, you don’t want any bad fans surrounding your program. That was a pretty good feeling right there.”

On beating UF and sweeping the state

“We knew we were going to do that. It’s normal. We just came to work and did what normally do, play together. It’s a good feeling though. We’re back on top, we’re back to doing what Florida State needs to do.”

“The games that we did lose, it was because of us. Mental mistakes and stuff like that. We are supposed to be undefeated. That’s how we feel.”
