She believes that if you are only focused on the growth of your social media accounts and you can’t show how that impacts the business as a whole, then proving ROI is nearly impossible. (Bloomberg) -- Tropical Storm Zeta, the Atlantic’s 27th system of the year, is set to sweep over Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula as a hurricane Tuesday before turning north and threatening the U.S. Gulf coast from Louisiana to Mississippi with another direct hit.Zeta was churning southeast of the Yucatan and gaining strength as it moved over the warm waters, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said Sunday. It could become a Category 1 hurricane as it nears Mexico. This will be the second hurricane hit this month for areas around the resort city of Cancun, which was flooded by Hurricane Delta. As much as 8 inches of rain could fall across the Yucatan, parts of Cuba and even into Florida as Zeta moves north.“Unfortunately it could cause problems in and around Cancun,” said Dan Pydnowski, a meteorologist with commercial forecaster AccuWeather Inc. “It has been the story this season, another hit for them.”Cooler water in the northern Gulf of Mexico could weaken the system to a tropical storm as it approaches the U.S. coast. On its current track, which is subject to change, Zeta could brush the edge of the offshore oil and natural gas fields near Louisiana that have seen numerous evacuations and shut-ins this season.Louisiana AgainWhen Zeta comes ashore, most likely in either Louisiana or Mississippi, it will bring flooding rains, Pydnowski said. Fortunately, it should start to move north quickly, which could limit some of the damage.Zeta would be the record 11th storm to hit the contiguous U.S. this year and if it comes ashore in Louisiana it will be the fifth time that state has been struck this season as well.So many storms have formed this year that the hurricane center has run out of official names and is using Greek letters to designate systems. The U.S. has been particularly hard hit with Hurricanes Isaias, Laura, Hanna, Sally, and Delta all striking the coastline, causing billions of dollars in damage. A handful of tropical storms have hit the U.S. as well. While some storms, including Isaias and Fay, hit the East Coast, the majority of systems struck the Gulf Coast between Texas and Florida. That includes Hurricanes Laura and Delta, which both came ashore near Cameron, Louisiana, providing a double dose of misery for residents in the western part of the state. The latest storm will probably also strike Louisiana, making it the fifth to do so in 2020.A typical Atlantic hurricane season only spins up 12 storms, and only 2005 produced more systems than this year, with 28. The six-month season theoretically ends on Nov. 30 but a number of storms formed before the season’s official start date of June 1 this year, and some meteorologists think they could keep coming into December. For more articles like this, please visit us at bloomberg.comSubscribe now to stay ahead with the most trusted business news source.©2020 Bloomberg L.P.
