Haggis launched to the edge of space

Footage provided by butcher Simon Howie shows a weather balloon carrying a packet of haggis into a clear sky before reaching 107,293 feet (20.3 miles, 32.1 kilometres) before falling back to Earth.

Howie claims it was the first haggis to have reached the edge of space and hoped that it would inspire children to become interested in space.

After its successful mission, which took the delicacy about three times higher than normal commercial airline flights, the haggis was taken back to Howie's company headquarters in Perthshire to be preserved.
