Haddock, Burke lift SW over Rockville

May 15—The high school athletic teams from South Windsor and Rockville have been bitter rivals for some 50 years.

So Friday's matchup between the girls lacrosse teams in South Windsor was a spirited battle. And Maliya Haddock had the most spirit.

Haddock scored six goals as the Bobcats defeated the Rams 16-7 in a CCC interdivisional game.

Kayden Burke added four goals for South Windsor (6-2-1). Victoria Jarvis scored twice while Carly Pitruzzello, Taryn Suffish, Alyssa Spika, and Olivia Mogor had a goal each. Goalies Ciara Styles and Catherine Downes combined for 12 saves.

Olivia Mistretta scored for goals for Rockville (2-11). Athena Diaz, Bree Upton, and Abby Bardon each scored one goal. Mandy Rivard made 11 saves.

FARMINGTON 9, RHAM 8. In Hebron, Abby Finn and Liz Nery had hat tricks in Farmington's CCC interdivisional win.

Madelena Graves had three goals for RHAM (7-5). Joelle Goralnik and Madison Masna added two goals each with Taryn Simon scoring once. Goalie Love Lanzuela made 11 saves.
