Food Flash” explores the wild world of food news, from the health benefits of red wine to why dark chocolate is actually good for you.

It’s no secret that staying hydrated is crucial to your overall health.

In fact, experts recommend that you drink at least eight glasses of water every day to boost your metabolism, give you energy and flush toxins from your body.

Eight glasses, though — that’s a lot, even if your body is 60 percent water to begin with.

Fortunately, you don’t have to sit around chugging water from a glass all day to meet that goal. You can also fulfill your daily water quota by eating certain fruits and vegetables.

Cucumbers, lettuce, zucchinis, radish, and tomatoes contain up to 96 percent water.

The list doesn’t stop there. Cauliflower, eggplants, spinach, watermelon and strawberries are all made up of 92 percent water.

Peaches, pineapples, cranberries, blueberries, apples and grapes contain up to 88 percent water, and finally, potatoes and bananas contain up to 79 percent water.

So drink or eat up — water can come in all shapes, sizes and states of matter.
