What a run for Gulliver Prep volleyball.

Gulliver Prep volleyball avenged its only loss this season by defeating Divine Savior in the Gold finals of the Florida Christian Tournament.

Divine Savior beat Gulliver Prep (16-1) a few weeks ago in the Gold finals of the C-M Cares Invitation at Chaminade-Madonna in Hollywood.

In an exciting Gold championship match at the Florida Christian Tournament, Gulliver Prep came from behind to defeat Divine Savior 13-25, 25-21, 16-14.

Jackie Taylor led with 11 kills and 7 blocks, and Hailey Brenner totaled 8 kills and 11 digs. Maya Pace had 18 assists and 4 blocks, and Sophia Wong added 17 digs.

Taylor was named tournament MVP, and Pace made the All Tournament team.

Gulliver went 3-0 to reach the finals.

Gulliver wins another title

Gulliver Prep followed up its Florida Christian Tournament title victory by defeating Saint Andrew’s-Boca Raton 25-23, 25-23, 22-25, 25-16 to win the Palm League Championship.

Jackie Taylor led with 19 kills and 5 blocks. Hailey Brenner recorded 18 kills and 3 aces, and Maya Pace totaled 47 assists and 11 digs. Sophia Wong added 23 digs, and Jade Garcia had 8 kills and 2 blocks.

The Raiders improved to 17-1.

St. Brendan 21, Miami Springs 14: Trailing 14-7, the Sabres scored twice (on Luis Lugo runs) in the fourth quarter for the come-from-behind victory. Behind 7-0 in the second quarter, the Sabres evened things when Bernard Oliva scored on a fumble return and Marco Netto converted the PAT. In the fourth quarter, Lugo scored on runs of 6 and 10 yards, and Netto made both extra points.
