Groome resumes frequent shuttle service between airports in Duluth, Twin Cities
May 12—Groome Transportation announced this week it would resume frequent shuttle service between Duluth and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
Citing a steady increase in air travel, Groome Transportation said it was "very pleased" to reopen its Duluth operation on June 1.
"We're very excited to reopen our Duluth operation," said Vince Groome, the third-generation CEO of his family's business. "Groome Transportation has been a part of the Duluth community for decades when we operated as Skyline Shuttle and we look forward to welcoming back customers and employees in June."
Groome added that new policies and procedures are in place to ensure the "safest possible travel experience to and from the MSP airport."
Similar to new policies and procedures implemented by major airlines, Groome has made changes for pandemic safety, including the following:
— Fogging vehicles after every use with an electrostatic sprayer, and a safe, high-grade disinfectant effective against coronaviruses.
— Making cleaning supplies available to drivers for regular wipe downs of high-touch surfaces.
— Implementing social distancing in vehicles by reducing the number of passengers permitted per vehicle and blocking certain seats.
— Requiring all drivers and passengers to wear face masks, or appropriate face covering of their noses and mouths.
