Which grocery stores offer curbside, delivery in Stark County?

Rushing the kids to practice. Making dinner. Starting yet another load of laundry. Taking Fido to the vet.

After all of that, it probably seems stressful to even consider making a grocery list, let alone heading out to the store.

Throughout the pandemic, grocery delivery and curbside pickup have become huge businesses.

Instacart, one of the leading grocery delivery services in the area, delivered a record-setting year in 2021 and has kicked off 2022 with strong momentum, delivering recent launches for partners such as the new Instacart Platform, its enterprise suite of technologies and services.

According to Instacart, its services are available to 90% of households in America.

But Instacart isn’t the only delivery service available. Many local grocery stores have their own delivery and pickup services, including Acme Fresh Market, which started offering both in 2017.

“Since we started offering pickup and delivery, we’ve had very strong participation by our customers. They love it,” said Katie Swartz, vice president of marketing for Acme Fresh Market. “Our acmestores.com orders peaked during the height of COVID, but they remain very high."

It can be overwhelming to figure out which stores offer delivery, pickup or both and how they work, so we've compiled a list of area grocery retailers that offer these services.

Acme Fresh Market offers grocery delivery and pickup

"If you haven’t shopped acmestores.com or downloaded the Acme Fresh Market APP, we invite you to give it a try," Swartz said. "We think you’ll love it!”

How it works: Your first delivery is free. After that, it’s $14.95 or $19.95, depending on your zip code. If your order is $49.99 or less (excluding taxes and all discounts), there is an additional $5 delivery fee. Grocery delivery for some zip codes has a fee between $10 and $20.

Grocery pickup is available, and it costs $2.95. Digital coupons can be used online, but paper coupons are not accepted. Alcoholic beverages can be purchased, but a valid ID must be shown at pickup or time of delivery.

Shop online and choose a pickup or delivery time. Then, either pull in to an Order Acme parking spot and let them load your groceries into your car, or look for them in your driveway.

You will pay online through orderacme.com. All major credit cards and EBT payments are accepted. Prices are determined based on when you pickup or have your groceries delivered. If you set a future date for your order, the price could increase.

Aldi offers grocery delivery and pickup

How it works: Aldi uses Instacart to fulfill online delivery orders. For delivery orders, first check your zip code on aldi.us to make sure it is available in your area. Then shop online at shop.aldi.us, place your order, and an employee will deliver your groceries. Orders go through Instacart, and charges will be finalized once it’s delivered.

For curbside pickup, you can start your order by shopping on shop.aldi.us or through instacart.com. Choose your local Aldi, and add items to your virtual cart. Before checking out, select pickup location and desired timeframes. Place your order, and pull up to the designated parking spot at your pickup time. Follow instructions on the signage at the parking spot, and an employee will bring your groceries out. See Instacart details and fees below.

Buehler’s Fresh Foods offers grocery delivery and pickup

How it works: Buehler’s uses Instacart to fulfill delivery orders. Delivery from the Massillon store is available in Massillon, and delivery from the Jackson Twp. store is available to Canton customers.

Shop on Buehler’s website or in the Buehler’s app, and choose a pickup or delivery time, usually available the same day. Customers pay online and get the first three orders free with promo code SAVETIME, according to a news release on Buehler’s website. After that, a $1.95 service fee is added to each order. Substitutions may be made for items not available.

Buehler’s website mentions partner Freshop, which allows customers to order groceries, create shopping lists, get coupons and access weekly ads. Delivery fees aren’t listed, but Instacart is mentioned as the available delivery company for the Canton and Massillon stores. See Instacart details below.

Discount Drug Mart offers grocery pickup

How it works: Visit discount-drugmart.com, and place your order online. Complete the checkout process, indicating your pickup time. You will receive and email with your order number, which you will show when you arrive. Check the status of your order by viewing your order history. You will receive a call when your order is ready for pickup.

When you arrive, you will call the store and choose option 2 for customer service and tell them you’re picking up. If you requested curbside service and payment is still required, they will collect payment over the phone (or they will come out to your car, if you prefer). They will place your order in your car. Check your local store for fees.

Earth Fare offers grocery delivery and pickup

How it works: Earth Fare fulfills orders using Instacart. You can shop either on Earth Fare’s website or directly on Instacart’s site or app. Earth Fare sets the price of items on the Instacart marketplace. Fishers Foods offers grocery delivery and pickup

How it works: Fishers To Go is offered at all Fishers locations. Visit fishersfoods.com, add items to your virtual cart and check out. Then you can select your pickup or delivery time.

If picking up, park in a Fishers To Go parking space, call the listed number, and they will bring your order to you. There is a $4.95 pickup fee.

Fishers To Go lists that it delivers within a 10-mile radius of its locations. The delivery fee is $9.95 within two miles, $1 for each additional mile. Delivery fees are waived for all orders more than $150, lists its website.

There are no maximum amounts, but the minimum is $35 for pickup and $50 for delivery. Orders must be paid for online, and all major credit cards are accepted, as well as Fishers gift cards. You can use digital coupons for online orders.

Fishers utilizes both DoorDash and Instacart to help its customers in the most ways possible.

Fresh Thyme Farmers Market offers grocery delivery and pickup

How it works: Fresh Thyme Farmers Market fulfills orders using Instacart. You can shop either on Fresh Thyme’s website or directly on Instacart’s site or app. Groceries are delivered in as quick as an hour. View Instacart’s details and fees below.

Giant Eagle offers grocery delivery and pickup at select locations

How it works: The minimum for delivery and pickup orders is $35. Pickup orders do not have a fee, but delivery orders have a $9.95 fee. All orders must be paid for online using a credit card, debit card, EBT payment or Giant Eagle gift card. Workers are not allowed to accept a tip for curbside orders, but you should tip for delivery orders during your online checkout. The tip is passed in full directly to the driver. Meijer offers grocery delivery and pickup

How it works: Enjoy free pickup on orders of $35 or more or home delivery in as soon as four hours. There is no markup on items, meaning you can enjoy the sales and promotions happening in store, such as 10 for $10 and buy five, save $5. mPerks apply to online orders.

Sign in on meijer.com or in the Meijer app and choose your store. Add all of your items to your virtual cart, and choose pickup or delivery time at checkout. Pick up your order at the designated time in the pickup area at the store, or a personal shopper will deliver it to your doorstep.

Target offers grocery delivery and pickup

How it works: Target uses Shipt to fulfill orders. You can sign up for a yearly membership for $99 a year for unlimited deliveries of $35 or more, or you can pay $9.99 per delivery. Shop online at target.com or using the Target app, select same day delivery, and schedule your delivery time when you check out. A personal shopper from Shipt, Target’s same day delivery partner, will hand-select your order and reach out via text if they need to adjust anything, and then they will deliver your order to your door.

To do order pickup, make sure your items are available for pickup, add them to cart and check out. Visit customer service to pick up inside the store, or choose “Drive Up” in the Target app, and an associate will bring out your order. Make sure to park in a “Drive Up” spot. Pickup and Drive Up orders do not have a fee.

Walmart offers grocery delivery and pickup

How it works: Shop groceries and more for same-day pickup. It's free for orders of $35 or more. Walmart offers same-day delivery for groceries and more from local stores. Fees may apply.

Order online at walmart.com or through the Walmart app. You must have an account to reserve a time.

The Walmart+ membership is $12.95 per month or $98 per year and offers many benefits. Receive member prices on gas at participating pumps, including Walmart and Sam’s Club stations, as well as Exxon, Mobile and Murphy. With Walmart+, enjoy free same-day delivery from your store, free shipping with no minimum amount from walmart.com, contact-free checkout and early access to promotions and events.

Instacart offers grocery delivery and pickup from select stores

How it works: Using instacart.com or the Instacart app, you can shop from stores near you. The app connects you with a personal shopper in your area to shop and deliver your order. You can talk directly to the shopper to make sure you’re getting everything you need. They will deliver the order to your door.

If you opt for curbside pickup at select locations, you will place your order and choose a pickup time. A shopper will gather your order. When you arrive, use the Instacart app to notify the store. Depending on the store, a shopper or store employee will bring your groceries to your car or you can pick them up in the designated area.

Fees start at $3.99 for same-day orders of $35 or more. Fees vary for one-hour delivery and for orders less than $35. There may be a pickup fee on your pickup order. Service fees vary based on store, and tipping is highly suggested for deliveries. Retailers set the prices of items purchased through Instacart; they may be higher than in-store prices.

Instacart has enabled EBT SNAP online payment nationwide with more than 60 retailers and banners, including Aldi, Food Lion, Publix, The Save Mart Companies and Price Chopper/Market 32, spanning more than 7,000 stores across 39 states and Washington D.C.
