Grinch and Krampus sightings, comedian Chris Kattan on Chattanooga-area entertainment calendar
Dec. 8—If you're in the least bit unnerved by the Grinch before his heart grows three sizes, consider yourself forewarned about Krampus, a half-goat, half-demon beast from German folklore.
People willing to dress as these mythological figures will form a Krampus Brigade for "a frighteningly good time" scaring naughty children straight at Saturday night's International Market & More at Cooper's Alley in downtown Chattanooga. (Sign up via the link on the Art120.org home page.)
The Krampus appearances happen only during the after-dark Bavarian market celebrating Krampusnacht (Krampus Night). The daytime edition of the market, meant to introduce art, food, music and gifts from around the world, is family-friendly.
Also, two pop-culture sensations — both household names for decades — are on the entertainment calendar: the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Chicago in concert and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" on stage. Here's a chronology of upcoming music, dance and theater productions.
