'Grease' at Trumpet in the Land Amphitheatre on Saturday

Grease is the word at 8:30 p.m. Saturday as the cast of Trumpet in the Land presents Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey’s Broadway musical "Grease."

An eight-year run on Broadway and two subsequent revivals place "Grease" among the world's most popular musicals. Rydell High's senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding Burger Palace Boys and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking Pink Ladies in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoke the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Head greaser Danny Zuko (Chester Boffo) and new, good girl Sandy Dumbrowski (Ellie Dudeck) try to relive the high romance of their "Summer Nights" as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as "Greased Lightnin'," "It's Raining on Prom Night," and "Alone at the Drive-In Movie."

Additional Burger Palace Boys and Pink Ladies include Bart Herman (Roger); Keon Dalziel (Doody); Ethan Parrish (Sunny); Tristan Peterman (Kenickie); DeeAnne McCoy (Jan); Anna Zurcher (Frenchy); Elle Stokey (Marty) and Mac Hardy (Rizzo). Joe Bonamico as Vince Fontaine, Tom Reed as Johnny Casino, Shannon McCullough-McKee as Miss Lynch; Emma Lesiecki as Patty Simcox; Dekin Vanderpool as Eugene; Hayley Smith as Cha-Cha and Zac Rusk as Teen Angel round out the principal cast list.

Grease will also be performed at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 6 and 13 in the Trumpet in the Land Amphitheatre Tickets are $20 for adults; $18 for seniors 60 and over; $18 for students 13 - 17 and $10 for children 12 and under and can be reserved by calling the box office at 330-339-1132.
