Granville's Ray Ray’s Meat + Three converting to carry-out format

Chef James Anderson, owner and founder of Ray Ray’s Hog Pit, announced Aug. 8 that Ray Ray’s Meat + Three in Granville will become Ray Ray’s fifth Hog Pit location in central Ohio, offering the original Ray Ray’s Hog Pit menu for online ordering and carry-out-only service. The switch began Aug. 11.

The 1256 Columbus Road site will offer the same legendary menu found at other Columbus-area Ray Ray’s Hog Pit spots, with all locations open the same hours: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday-Sunday. Ray Ray’s catering will continue to be available throughout central Ohio. Online orders can be placed at rayrayshogpit.com for the Granville Ray Ray’s, as well as Clintonville at Ace of Cups, Westerville at 5755 Midtown Rd., Franklinton at Land Grant Brewing Co. and Powell at Nocterra Brewing Co.

While the Meat + Three dine-in concept was a hit among customers, Anderson took a long and thoughtful look at the demands the post-COVID-19, dine-in full-service places on the broader Ray Ray’s plan, team and operations. Bringing Granville into the original Ray Ray’s Hog Pit family will continue providing area fans with Ray Ray’s famous smoked ribs, beef brisket, pulled pork, jerk chicken, Carolina pork chop, hot links smoked sausage, cauliflower burnt ends, Ray Ray’s sandwiches and classic sides, along with bulk order options. The change also ensures that each order will be prepared with the speed and efficiency guests have enjoyed at all other Ray Ray’s locations.

Dine-in seating to return in September

Much of what makes Ray Ray's a central Ohio legend, and a fan favorite, is an unyielding passion for the rich culinary traditions and flavors of American barbecue. Soon-to-be announced plans for the Granville dining room and expansive kitchen will keep that passion in full swing. Details on the plan for the dining room and kitchen in Granville will be unveiled in the coming weeks.

Founded in 2009 by chef James Anderson, Ray Ray’s is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio and operates five barbecue locations in three counties in central Ohio. Chef Anderson is a James Beard-nominated chef who, along with his Ray Ray’s Hog Pit barbecue locations, has been featured on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives; on The Food Network; and in USA Today; Food & Wine; Esquire; Southern Living; New York Times and other major culinary media sources.
