Granville P.E.O. Chapter Hosts Guest Day

Thirty one members and guests met on April 30, 2022, at The First Presbyterian Church of Granville to celebrate May and introduce non-members to P.E.O. As they arrived, guests received a daisy-covered grab bags of treats along with P.E.O. brochures explaining the Philanthropic Education Organization’s mission and its various education projects.

Tables were decorated with beautiful bouquets of spring flowers and colorful place settings. A delicious brunch consisting of breakfast casseroles and pastries was provided by the program committee. President Sally Stilwell and Granville Chapter AB member, Bryn Bird, shared P.E.O. information and family stories of P.E.O. connections.

After brunch, Bird provided directions, and everyone filled paper cones with the lovely flowers and ribbons on each table, to make "May Day Bouquets." As is the May Day tradition, each attendee was encouraged to anonymously hang her crafted bouquet on the doorknob of a friend. Bird told a touching story about how many years ago, her mother, a busy young mom of four, was inspired to join P.E.O. after receiving a "May Day Bouquet" from a member.
