Grand Forks Herald's Spring Home Improvement: Exterior improvements enhance home's visual appeal and market value

And "for people who are looking to buy a home, you don't want to buy a home that has got to be fixed up in the next year," Linnertz said.
For siding and gutters, especially, the options have multiplied, he said. Those products are now available in more than 30 colors.
Don's ABC Seamless enjoys a "pretty good following" among people in this region, he said. The company serves customers in a wide geographic area, from the Canadian border to Langdon, N.D., to Fosston, Minn., and south to Mayville, N.D.
Almost all, about 99%, of his customers are homeowners, Linnertz said, and most projects can be completed within two weeks.
A lot of customers visit the Don's ABC Seamless website to research services and products — and "by the time they call, they know what they want," he said.
Linnertz, who grew up on a farm near Red Lake Falls, Minn., bought the business 43 years ago, he said. At the time, it had been open for a couple years. He added the word "Don's" to the name.
Over more than four decades, the business has grown to the point where, in the busy summer months, it employs about 20 workers, he said.
