Awards season has officially begun!

The 2019 Governors Awards took place in Los Angeles on Sunday night, kickstarting what is sure to be another whirlwind awards season, which will end with the 2020 Academy Awards on February 9.

Naturally, there was no lack of star power for the evening, with the stars of several likely Oscar contenders hitting the red carpet ahead of the event: The cast of "Hustlers" was on-hand in brightly-colored gowns, with J.Lo, Keke Palmer, Constance Wu and Lili Reinhart all attending the event. Director Greta Gerwig stepped out, as did several cast members of her highly-anticipated "Little Women" remake, Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh and Laura Dern.

"Booksmart" director Olivia Wilde was also joined by stars Beanie Feldstein and Kaitlyn Dever, with Charlize Theron, Renée Zellweger and Scarlett Johansson, who are all considered likely acting nominees in their respective films, also attending.

Regina King, Cynthia Erivo, Dakota Johnson, Robert Pattison and Meg Ryan were among the other famous faces at the 2019 Governors Awards, but the biggest star of all was Sophia Loren, who made a rare red carpet appearance to honor legendary director Lina Wertmuller.
