GOP endorses Hall in 59th House District

May 20—Republicans from Enfield and East Windsor unanimously endorsed Rep. Carol Hall to run for re-election for the 59th House District seat during a convention held Tuesday at the Enfield Town Hall.

She will be running against Enfield Town Councilman Matthew Despard, who received the Democratic nomination.

"It's been a great honor and privilege to represent the residents of Enfield and East Windsor at the State Capitol for the last six years," Hall said. "I take this job of bringing your voice to Hartford very seriously and every vote that I have taken, I have done so with the residents in mind."

During her last legislative session, Hall served on the Public Safety and Security, Planning and Development, and Appropriations committees.

Before serving as a state representative, Hall was a member of the Enfield Town Council for 13 years. She also served on the Ethics Commission, the building committee for the elementary schools and junior high, the Republican Town Committee, and the general government sub-committee and insurance subcommittee for the Town Council.

"I appreciate all of the support I've received over the past six years and look forward to representing the 59th District for another two," she said.

Hall, a real estate agent, and her husband, Fred, a retired police officer, have three children.
