Going to 'College GameDay' this week for Clemson football vs NC State? A guide for Tigers fans

ESPN’s College GameDay show is returning to Clemson’s campus on Saturday morning ahead of the Tigers’ ACC game against NC State that evening.

Kickoff for the game between No. 5 Clemson (4-0, 2-0 ACC) and NC State (4-0, 0-0) is set for 7:30 p.m. on ABC.

ESPN’s popular road show will air live from Bowman Field on campus from 9 a.m. until noon. It is GameDay’s first visit to Clemson since Oct. 10, 2020, but the show’s eighth appearance on the Clemson campus overall.

If you plan to join the crowd in shouting, cheering and winning over the audience with ingenious signs, here’s what you need to know:

What time should I arrive for ESPN’s College GameDay?

The “pit” viewing area at Bowman Field will open at 7:30 a.m. and is reserved for current Clemson students, although any fan may enjoy the proceedings from adjacent areas on Bowman Field. Early arrival campouts are discouraged due to the impending poor weather.

The prohibited items include bags of any kind, food and drinks, pens, pencils and markers, dry-erase boards and signs on sticks.

What can my 'College GameDay' sign say?

Fans are encouraged to be creative … to a point. No vulgar signs are allowed, nor any political or religious signs. Also, .com, .net and .org references are prohibited.

For fans in the pit, signs must not be on poles or oversized. All signs will be inspected prior to entry and signs that violate policies will be removed.

How to watch ESPN's College GameDay on TV, live stream

The show, which features host Rece Davis and analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard and Pat McAfee, will air from 9 a.m.-noon on ESPN, ESPNU and may be streamed on the ESPN app. A pre-pre-game show – “Countdown to College GameDay” – will air at 8:30 a.m. and can be watched on Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and the ESPN app.
