Glen Este/Wright State product Peyton Burdick swats 1st big league homer for Marlins
In his third major league game, Marlins rookie Peyton Burdick stroked his first big-league homer Sunday in Miami's 3-0 shutout of the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
The former multi-sport standout at Glen Este High School (which merged with Amelia to form the current West Clermont) knocked the cowhide 421 feet in the fifth inning, just after teammate Jacob Stallings had homered.
The Cincinnatian was greeted at the plate by former Red Billy Hamilton.
