Girls tennis: Litchfield claims Wright County West title

Sep. 30—GLENCOE — The Litchfield girls tennis team locked up the Wright County Conference West Division championship on Thursday.

Singles players Karlee Prahl, Isla Dille and Kaitlyn Palmer all won Wright County titles, as did all three of the Dragons' doubles teams.

Litchfield's doubles teams of Lauren Erickson and Olivia Olson at No. 1, Sophie Stilwell and Trinity Hawes at No. 2 and Amelia Benson and Emma Anderson at No. 3 all took home first place and all-conference honors.

No. 1 singles player Mya Mayhew and the No. 1 doubles team of Delaney Hanson and Brooke Adelman earned all-conference honors for New London-Spicer.

Willmar dropped a 6-1 Central Lakes Conference decision to Rocori on Thursday at Rocori High School.

Willmar's lone point came at No. 1 singles. The Cardinals' Adali Laidlaw beat Kaylene Andrusick 6-1, 2-6, 6-3.

Willmar is now 0-11 in the CLC and 0-13 overall. Rocori improved to 7-3 in conference play and 12-5 overall.

Osakis won every point except at No. 2 doubles to beat Minnewaska in the West Central Conference match at Osakis.

The Lakers' Grace Jensen and Zoey Elwood beat the Silverstreaks' Madelyn Collins and Lauren Anderson 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 to earn Minnewaska's lone point.

No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles also went three sets.

At No. 4 singles, Osakis' Bella Weisser beat Jayda Kolstoe 4-6, 6-3, 10-3. And at 3 doubles, Brenna Moen and Jaclyn Dietrich emerged with a victory over Minnewaska's Katy Vold and Avarie Uhde 6-2, 5-7, 10-7.

At No. 1 singles, the Mainstreeters' Hailey Hokanson beat Cameron Myers 3-6, 6-3, 6-1. And at No. 4 singles, Sauk Centre's Lisa Straninger defeated Ashley Klaassen 6-3, 6-7, 7-5.

The second and third doubles matches also went to three sets.
