GIRLS TENNIS: Bemidji seeded 1st in Section 8AA North entering playoffs
Sep. 30—BEMIDJI — The Bemidji High School girls tennis team is sitting pretty entering the Section 8AA playoffs.
By virtue of their nearly spotless 16-2 regular season record, the Lumberjacks notched the No. 1 seed in the North subsection of Section 8AA. They will face No. 8 East Grand Forks in the first round of the single-elimination postseason at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4, in Fargo, N.D.
Elsewhere in the North bracket, No. 2 Perham/New York Mills will take on No. 7 Detroit Lakes, No. 3 Thief River Falls faces No. 6 Fergus Falls, and No. 4 Moorhead will match wits with No. 5 Alexandria.
The Moorhead-Alexandria winner will face the victor of Bemidji's first match at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. If BHS is victorious once again, they'll advance to the section semifinals on Oct. 14. The two finalists face off for the section title later that day.
The top three seeds in the South subsection are St. Cloud, Annandale and Rocori.
