Girls Hockey: River Lakes shutout Brainerd/Little Falls

Feb. 26—NEW LONDON — River Lakes, ranked ninth in Class A, knocked off Brainerd/Little Falls 2-0 at the Paynesville Ice Arena on Thursday night.

The Flyin' Warriors are ranked 10th in Class AA.

The Stars are 5-3-1 in the Central Lakes Conference and 9-3-1 overall. Brainerd/Little Falls is 5-2 in the CLC and 8-3. Willmar, which was idle Thursday, is 4-0-1 in the CLC and 7-3-1 overall.

River Lakes plays Chisago Lakes, the top-ranked team in Class A, at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Richmond.

Litchfield/D-C 2

Wright County Conference-leading Mound-Westonka/Watertown-Mayer/Southwest Christian outshot Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato 74-14 as the White Hawks won in Mound.

Gretta Pioske finished with four goals while Camryn Hargreaves also got a hat trick with three goals. Ellie Schmid and Grace Peterson both had three assists for M-W/W-M/SWC.

Lydia Niemela finished with a goal and an assist for the Dragons while Emily Johnson also tallied a score.

W-M/W-M/SWC is ranked fourth in the state in Class A.

Litchfield/D-C next plays Hutchinson at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Litchfield.
