Girls Basketball Roundup: Cards scrap past Eagles, 55-32; Otters are next

Mar. 8—ST. CLOUD — The Willmar girls basketball team grinded out a 55-32 victory over St. Cloud Apollo on Saturday.

The victory improved Willmar's record to 11-2 in the Central Lakes Conference and 12-3 overall.

"We played really well (Saturday) other than finishing around the hoop," Willmar head coach Dustin Carlson said. "We couldn't buy any buckets today, but our girls kept scrapping it out. Looking forward to Monday's battle up at Fergus."

Willmar plays at 7:15 p.m. Monday at Fergus Falls. The Otters are 8-2 in the CLC and 12-3 overall. They've won nine in a row and beat Willmar 63-55 Jan. 26 at the Big Red Gym. Fergus Falls is ranked eighth in the state in Class AA.
