Sand Creek 29, Madison 25

MADISON TWP. — The Trojans and Aggies renewed their Tri-County Conference rivalry with Sand Creek getting the upper hand in the defensive game.

Sand Creek (2-0, 1-0 TCC) would be able to grind down defensively only allowing the Trojans (1-2, 0-1 TCC) to score five first-quarter points and only allowing a free throw in the second as the Aggies were able to make shots with ease and lead at half, 19-6.

Madison decided to turn on the jets as it would start the third quarter on an 8-0 run to get within five. Sand Creek, however, was able to hold it off until the end of the third quarter, leading 24-15.

Madison would give itself one last chance as it was able to slow down the Sand Creek offense and go on a 10-2 scoring run to cut the deficit within two points.

That's when Chelsi Zylan stepped up for the Aggies and stroked a clutch 3-pointer in the final minute to secure the game.

Javon Jenkins, Madison: Started off slow, but the girls battled to get back in the game. Effort was awesome, got to find ways to get the ball in the basketball.
