Actor Jared Padalecki, who played Rory Gilmore's on-and-off boyfriend Dean Forester in "Gilmore Girls," was arrested in Austin, Texas over the weekend after allegedly punching two men in the face.

Padalecki, 37, is described as a a regular at local bar and lounge Stereotype, where the late-night incident culminated with an arrest on two counts of assault and one of public intoxication, TMZ reports. The outlet notes that Padalecki is believed to be the establishment's owner or an investor, although that is not yet confirmed.

The "Supernatural" star allegedly "struck a bartender in the face," and after moving outside the bar, he "got into it with the general manager of the place and allegedly struck him in the face as well."

Cops intervened, and Padalecki allegedly "flashed a wad of cash" at the officers as he was restrained.

It's unclear what led to the altercations.

Padalecki reprised his role as Dean in 2016's "Gilmore Girls" revival, but he's perhaps best known for the long-running "Supernatural." The series premiered in 2005 and is now in its fifteenth and final season, which returned in October 2019.

He has spoken candidly about a longtime battle with depression, launching in 2015 a campaign designed to support people struggling with addiction, suicidal thoughts and other related issues.

Padalecki, a San Antonio native, lives in Texas with his wife and three children.
