The Gilded Goat plans expansion with new Old Town taproom

A Midtown Fort Collins brewery has something new on tap for Old Town.

The Gilded Goat Brewing Company is planning to open a taproom location at 132 W. Mountain Ave. early next year, according to a news release from the brewery.

The West Mountain Avenue space, located next to Comet Chicken, was previously home to Storm Fine Apparel, an upscale clothing shop.

"It is exciting for us as lifelong residents of the Choice City to become a part of the energy and history of Old Town," Gilded Goat's co-owner and Head of Brewing Operations Charlie Hoxmeier said in the Wednesday news release. "This location is an important step for the Gilded Goat in reaching our expansion goals in production and availability throughout Northern Colorado. We are looking forward to bringing our delicious craft beer downtown.”

The 1,600-square-foot space will be transformed over the next month, with a target opening date in January, the release said. It will exclusively serve as a taproom, with brewing operations continuing at Gilded Goat's existing Midtown location, which opened next to Trader Joe's at 3500 S. College Ave. in early 2017.
