The Giants are dropping like flies against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

LB Blake Martinez had a scary situation come that forced him out of the game on the first drive on Sunday with a knee injury.

Trying to make a tackle on Cordarrelle Patterson, Martinez slowed up and it looks like his left knee buckled. He stayed down after hitting the turf and then needed help off the field. He then went to the locker room.

Sterling Shepard was also ruled out with a hamstring injury that came on a good Giants drive downfield. And before that Darius Slayton was also ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Not to jump to conclusions on any of those injuries, but these are obvious key immediate losses for New York.

Martinez is the quarterback of the defense, making calls as team captain from the linebacker position. He also led the Giants in tackles last season, and a knee injury is never good to see especially considering how quickly he was deemed out of the game.

As for Shepard, he hauled in 16 receptions for over 200 yards and a touchdown in just two games for the Giants. Daniel Jones loves going to him, especially on third down.

And for Slayton, he’s a deep threat that normally gets 1-on-1 matchups because of the other threats on offense.
