Giants activate Nick Gates from PUP, shuffle practice squad

The New York Giants signed veteran offensive lineman Solomon Kindley to their practice squad and released running back Antonio Williams.

Kindley, 6-foot-4 and 335-pounds, was a fourth-round pick out of Georgia by the Miami Dolphins in 2020. At Georgia, he was named to the Coaches’ Freshman All-SEC Team in 2017 and was a member of teams that won 11 or more games for three straight years.

Kindley played in 29 games with 15 starts over his two years with the Dolphins. As a rookie, Kindley started 13 games and played in 16 games, started two last year all at the guard positions.

This moves come on the heels of the Nick Gates returning to practice from the PUP list. Gates is making his comeback from a devastating leg fracture suffered last September.

Gates now has a 21-way day window to practice with the team. After 21 days, he must either be added to the active roster, revert to PUP for the remainder of the season or be released.
