A 'Ghostbusters' Cereal Is Coming To Shelves Soon And It's Filled With Huge Marshmallow Pieces

Update, April 12, 2021: The time has finally arrived that I can give you confirmed news on this long awaited release, and honestly, it's here sooner than I expected. General Mills has officially announced the release of the upcoming Ghostbusters-inspired cereal and if you cannot contain your excitement, you are not alone.
As the certified Queen of Nostalgic Things (yes, I am sticking with this title!), I am happy to report that the kind of new-ish Ghostbusters cereal will be hitting shelves of grocery stores very, very soon. Slated to arrive early-to-mid April—which is pretty much, um, right now—the limited-edition offering is everything that we could have dreamed of and more. Made with fruity-flavored sweetened corn puffs that are joined by ghost and ectoplasm-shaped marshmallows, this is definitely one you'll want to get before it's gone for good.
Cereal lovers can find these in both family and mid-sized boxes for $3.99 and $2.50, respectively. But since there's no dedicated date they'll be released this month, you'll want to keep an eye out for both sizes. They could totally be on your cereal aisle right now!
Original post, January 23, 2021: If you haven't been able to tell by now, the anticipation for the new Ghostbusters: Afterlife film is at an all-time high. As a result (or maybe this was all a plan to get us excited?), fans learned that there would soon be Ghostbusters-inspired Twinkies hitting shelves. Now, however, it's been brought to the attention of the Queen of Nostalgic Things (that would be me if you weren't hip to my title just yet) that there's a "new" Ghostbusters cereal coming to town, too!
The cereal, which is brought to you by General Mills, hasn't gotten a secured release date yet, but it has popped up as a listed product on Walmart's website. Quite similar to the original 1980's Ghostbusters cereal box, this new rendition—which may not be the finalized version—displays the infamous Ghostbusters logo alongside a bowl of reddish-orange crunchy cereal pieces. And, just like the original version, it includes ghost and Silmer-shaped marshmallow pieces to add more sweet nostalgia to your morning.
Since Ghostbusters: Afterlife is set to be released in June 2021, one can only expect that we'll be able to get our hands on a box sooner than soon. Hopefully though, it'll come equipped with a glow-in-the-dark box so that I can relive my childhood while I watch old episodes of The Real Ghostbusters cartoon in the mornings.
