Gators still on NCAA Tournament bubble ahead of KSU game

Todd Golden’s gang maintained its spot on in ESPN’s latest bracketology update, still sitting on the outside looking in the Next Four Out group. However, that still represents an improvement on their standing prior to Florida’s Quadrant 1 win against the Mississippi State Bulldogs on the road Saturday.

Joining the Gators in the final tier of Joe Lunardi’s projections are the Penn State Nittany Lions, Oklahoma Sooners and Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Two fellow Southeastern Conference teams hold the top seed in their respective brackets, with the Tennessee Volunteers atop the East Region, which takes place in New York, and the Alabama Crimson Tide leading the Midwest Region based in Kansas City.

A total of six SEC teams cracked the top 68 programs expected to make this year’s Big Dance, with the Auburn Tigers (No. 7 seed), Arkansas Razorbacks (No. 8) and Missouri Tigers (No. 9) and Kentucky Wildcats (No. 11), also included.

On Saturday, Florida faces the No. 5 Kansas State Wildcats, who enter the game as a No. 4 seed in the West Region based in Las Vegas. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m. EST and can either be watched on ESPN2 or head on the  Gators IMG Sports Network.
