Gareth Gates shares rare social media snap of eight-year-old daughter, Missy: 'You're my world'

Gareth Gates couldn’t resist posting a sweet selfie with his eight-year-old daughter earlier this week, despite his ongoing efforts to keep her off social media and away from the spotlight.
The Pop Idol runner-up uploaded a photograph of himself and Missy looking away from the camera to Instagram, alongside the caption: "I rarely share pictures of my daughter. I never like exposing too much of her, I think it should be her choice when she’s a little older.
"BUT - I had to share this. I can’t believe how beautiful she is. I love you Missy moo. You’re my world.”
He finished off the post with a classic ‘no filter’ hashtag.
Gates welcomed Missy into the world with ex-wife Suzanne Yates, who he was in a relationship with for ten years. The pair split in 2011, with Gates candidly admitting at the time that “despite our efforts over the past three years to make our marriage work, sadly Suzanne and I have decided to separate.”

The Spirit in the Sky singer is currently in a relationship with Coronation Street actor Faye Brookes, whom he met while they were both performing in Legally Blonde: The Musical eight years ago. The couple got engaged on New Year’s Eve.
"We were both crying the whole way through,” Brookes previously told OK! magazine. “Once it was finished, Gareth got down on one knee and said, 'Will you spend the rest of your life with me?' And of course I said yes straight away.
Back in October 2017, Gates shared a picture of himself walking hand-in-hand with Missy and Brookes - who were both sipping on Starbucks drinks as they eyed the camera - in New York City.
