Injury report

Starting linebacker Justin Flowe watched the game against Stanford from the sidelines in sweats with an undisclosed issue.

On Monday, Oregon coach Dan Lanning was asked about the availability of Flowe, who is fifth on the team with 19 tackles.

"I think things are trending in the right direction for Justin," he said.

Sewell getting his stats

Sophomore linebacker Noah Sewell, a preseason AP All-American, got off to a slow start with seven total tackles in the first three games of the season.

But the past two weeks, Sewell has been making the type of impact expected of a player of his caliber.

Sewell had nine tackles in the win against Washington State, including 2.5 for a loss of yards and one sack.

Last Saturday against Stanford, Sewell had five tackles and recovered the first fumble of his career, which he returned 21 yards to set up an Oregon touchdown.

He now ranks third on the team with 21 tackles, behind Bennett Williams (26) and Jeffrey Bassa (23).

"He's making the plays that come his way and you can't force yourself to make plays and operate outside the system," Lanning said. "Noah's doing a good job of taking the plays that come his direction. And I think he would tell you there are some things that he's improved on. I think he'd also tell you there's a lot of stuff you can continue to work at."

What they're wearing

The Ducks uniform this week is officially called Eggshell, but fans are also referring to it as broken eggshell, paint splatters and Oreo milkshake.

About the opponent

After going 1-11 in 2021, Arizona overhauled its roster by adding 50 newcomers, the most by any team in the Pac-12.

Among them were nine transfers from FBS programs.

None have had a bigger impact than quarterback Jayden de Laura and receiver Jacob Cowing.

De Laura, who started the past two seasons at Washington State, has thrown for 1,633 yards, 14 touchdowns and an average of 326.6 yards per game, stats that all rank second in the conference.

He threw for a career-high 484 yards and tied the school record with six touchdown passes in a 43-20 win against Colorado on Saturday. That came a week after he set a then-career high with 401 yards in a loss to California.

However, De Laura was 0-2 against Oregon during his time at WSU. Last year in a 38-24 loss in Eugene, he was 20 of 36 for 280 yards with two passing TDs, one rushing TD and two interceptions. In a 43-29 loss in Pullman in 2020, he was 25 of 39 for 321 yards and two scores.

His top passing target this season has been UTEP transfer Jacob Cowing, who leads the Pac-12 with 40 catches for 566 yards and seven touchdowns. He averages eight receptions and 113 per game.

Receiver Dorian Singer ranks second in the conference with 32 catches for 450 yards.

The last time Ducks, Wildcats met

Oregon opened the 2021 Pac-12 season with a 41-19 win against Arizona at Autzen Stadium.

It was 24-19 in the fourth quarter before the then-No. 3 Ducks scored the final 17 points in the game.

Oregon intercepted Arizona starting quarterback Jordan McCloud five times, including a 68-yard pick-six by Bennett Williams.
