Gadsden-area top performers for the final week of the AHSAA spring season

Here are the top performers in the Gadsden area in high school sports for the final week of AHSAA spring season. This list will be updated throughout the week.

Baseball

Wednesday

Etowah's Andrew Pierce was 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs scored in a 9-3 loss to Mobile Christian in Game 3 of the AHSAA Class 4A championship series.

Etowah's Hunter Humphries drove in two runs and scored a run.

Tuesday

Etowah's Trace Thompson had three doubles and two RBIs in a 9-8 loss in Game 1 of the Class 4A state championship series.

Etowah's Jameson Scissum added a triple and two RBIs.

Piedmont's Jake Austin had two RBIs in a 6-5 loss to Trinity Presbyterian in Game 2 of the Class 3A championship series.

Piedmont's McClane Mohan scored two runs and drove in a run in Game 2.

Piedmont's Austin Estes tripled and scored a run in a 3-1 loss to Trinity Presbyterian in Game of the Class 3A championship series. He also struck out seven in five innings.

Monday

Piedmont's Max Hanson drove in two runs in a 4-2 win over Trinity Presbyterian in Game 1 of the Class 3A championship series.

Piedmont's Jack Hayes pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on nine hits, striking out three.

Softball

Friday

Cedar Bluff's Natalie Baty tripled twice and drove in a run in a 5-4 win over Waterloo in the Class 1A state championship tournament.

Cedar Bluff's Mattie Payne added two hits and two RBIs.

Cedar Bluff's Jordyn Walker struck out eight hitters and did not allow an earned run in a 3-0 loss to Holy Spirit.

Cedar Bluff's Mattie Payne had two hits and three RBIs in a 10-8 elimination loss to Woodland.

Cedar Bluff's Natalie Baty added a double and an RBI against Woodland.

Spring Garden's Madison Brown had an RBI double in a 8-1 loss to Mars Hill in the Class 2A state championship tournament.

Spring Garden's Avery Steward had two hits, including a double and also walked twice.

Tuesday

Piedmont's Emily Farmer drove in two runs in a 6-2 loss to Oakman in the Class 3A softball championship regional.

Piedmont's Emily Farmer had three RBIs in a 5-3 elimination loss to Prattville Christian.
