Gabourey Sidibe Is Engaged—And Her Ring Is As Sweet as She Is

Gabourey Sidibe is getting hitched. Boyfriend Brandon Frankel popped the question yesterday, November 24th, and we don't know who is more over the moon: Sidibe and Frankel, or us.
"My BFF proposed and now I get to hold him forever," the Empire and American Horror Story star captioned the engagement announcement, calling Frankel, "The funniest man I’ve ever met. The sweetest human to exist...He is the partner i thought I was too independent to need."
She continued, "The second I look a bit stressed and overwhelmed, he jumps into action to take over what he can for me. Every moment with him is a joy...I’ve learned so much about myself through him and I feel grateful and excited to learn more about the entire world with him by my side."
Frankel also posted an announcement to his Instagram, showing off the absolutely adorable way he proposed. Hint: the couple's cat was involved.
"I asked my best friend to marry me, and she said “YES”!" Frankel wrote. "So excited to spend the rest of my life with the most amazing, hilarious, beautiful, and inspiring woman I’ve ever known. I couldn’t imagine a life without you. We make the best team, and we make everything fun and memorable. I liked it, so I put a 💍 on it. Love you to the moon and back."
The pair have been together since before May of 2019 when they went Instagram official on Frankel's feed. Since then, they've become #RelationshipGoals on Instagram with their cute and quirky content.
Sidibe's celeb pals said it best. "Congratulations!!!!" Mariah Carey wrote. "My favs !!!!! Congrats my loves !!!!" Janelle Monáe commented. And Gabrielle Union posted a string of heart emojis. We're all fighting to be this couple's biggest fan, and we can't wait until the big day.
